In celebration of this year’s Winter Olympics held in Pyeongchang, South Korea we’d like to share with you a fascinating personal project by Julia Fullerton-Batten.
In this series of images, Julia street-cast young Korean women dressed in the traditional Hanbok, and photographed them against the backdrop of its modern austere capital city, Seoul. The settings illustrate the country’s history, the political tensions between South and North Korea, and its cultural traditions, such as the tea ceremony and the game of Badminton. You can see the full collection of images here.
